Bialecki's Best in Fly Nets Points in Indy

RESULTS

Indianapolis, Ind.-
Jan Bialecki's personal best in the 100 butterfly nabbed him an appearance in the finals of the NCAA DII National Championships Thursday.

Bialecki delivered his strongest performance on day two, competing in the 100 yard butterfly, the event that punched his ticket to the national stage.

Bialecki's resolve was on full display as he came off the blocks quickly and was close to the leaders for much of the front half. While he closed the race in 14th, Bialecki came through with a new personal best of 47.77, shaving .04 off his seed time.

The swim also qualified Jan for the "B" Final Thursday night with a chance to slide up five spots on the National Ranking.

Bialecki was a shade off his pace in the finals, finishing 15th with a 47.85, while nabbing 2 points for Fresno Pacific.

Bialecki opened up his national's performance on Wednesday by competing in the 50 free. Despite a strong first split, Bialecki was DQ'd for not breaking the surface by 15 meters.

"I was really happy with how he bounced back and didn't yet yesterday play with his mind," Fresno Pacific head coach Brian Sharar said. "He went out and did a personal best today. So I was really happy for him and in that respect."

Bialecki concluded the trip on Saturday, improving on his seed time in the 100 free. He was nearly half a second better in the prelims than his posted time using a 44.53 to finish 28th in the event.

The impressive showing by the sophomore concludes the 2022-2023 Swim & Dive season for FPU, capping the year at the sport's premiere event.
