FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's and women's track and field teams are reaching the peak of their season and ran some of the fastest times of the year on Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite.

WOMEN'S TOP FINISHERS
- Kyla Richardson was incredible in the 200-meter dash, winning the event with a time of 23.22.
- High winds prevented the time from being legal for the school record.
- Kyra Bailey and Zara Anthony set personal bests with 24.65 and 25.03 respectively in the 200-meter dash.
- In the 100-meter, Chloe Sharp ran an 11.95 that tied her for fifth all-time at FPU.
- Xiamara Young made her 100-meter debut and ran 12.06
- The time lands seventh all-time for FPU.
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Danae Manibog Gatewood, Richardson, Sharp, and Madison Flores broke the school record with a time of 45.53.
- The time ranks second in the nation going into the weekend.
- Gianna Dickson won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.41.
- Maribel Aguilar ran the steeplechase for the first time this season, finishing in 12:10.72.
- Young jumped 39'4.5" in the triple jump for the win.
- That ranks her 14th in the nation and is FPU's fifth-best mark ever.
- Young won the long jump as well with a mark of 18'3.75".
- Nikki Crouch cleared 12'5.5" in the pole vault, good enough for third place.
- Alicia Garcia hurled the javelin 131'6", good enough for fourth place.
MEN'S TOP FINISHERS
- Cullin Bates won the 110-meter hurdles, zooming down the track at 14.65.
- Bo Olsen set another personal best in the 800-meters at 1:51.77.
- Abesolom Teffre ran a personal best in the 1,500-meters, clocking in at 3:57.14.
- Daniel Binns was excellent in the 400-meter, setting a new personal best at 49.33.
- Juan Zamora debuted in the steeplechase and ran 10:29.30.
- Toby Bartlett vaulted great, clearing 15'1" for a third-place finish.
UP NEXT:
- The Sunbirds take on one of the biggest meets of the year next weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. The meet starts on Thursday and wraps up on Saturday.
