CLOVIS, Calif. - Fresno Pacific track and field delivered a statement performance across the board at the Fresno State Invitational, despite having a smaller group of athletes competing than usual.
Leading the charge on the track, Cyan Haslip turned in a standout performance in the women's 100m hurdles, clocking a lifetime-best 13.82 seconds. Her effort not only sharpens her competitive edge heading into championship season but also moves her up to second place on the program's all-time list.
The momentum carried into the relay events, where the men's 4x100m squad of Gus Remlinger, Shemar Palmer, Aamir Smith, and Rome Johnson continued their historic run. After breaking the school record at the conference championships, the quartet wasted no time rewriting it again—this time blazing to a 40.37 finish, marking another lifetime best and solidifying their place as one of the fastest units in program history.
In the field, Malachi Carrasco reached new heights—literally—by clearing a lifetime-best 7'1" in the high jump. The mark not only sets a new school record but also vaults him to No. 5 in the nation, placing him firmly in the national spotlight.
Dejan Mileusnic added to the Sunbirds' national presence with a season-best throw of 222'6" in the javelin, improving his standing to No. 12 in the country. Chavez Grey dominated the discus, taking first place with a strong 51.56m mark, while freshman Micah Vossler impressed in the men's long jump with a solid 6.96m effort.
With one meet remaining, the focus now shifts to Azusa, where the Sunbirds will have their final opportunity to lock in qualifying marks and solidify their roster for the national championships.
