FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's and women's track and field teams made the most of the opportunity to compete close to home, posting some of their best results at the West Coast Relays hosted by Fresno State at Buchanan High School on Friday.

"The team enjoyed competing in town this week and maximized the benefits of that. We performed at a high level throughout all disciplines today, but the spotlight deserves to be shone on Danae and Gianna who lowered their school records, as well as the other sprinter women who put up some of the best marks in the country so far this season. WOMEN'S TOP FINISHERS
- Danae Manibog Gatewood was unbelievable in the 400-meter, winning the event with a time of 53.91.
- The time is the fastest in FPU history.
- It also earned an NCAA Provisional and is the fastest time in NCAA DII this season.
- Madison Flores took third in the same event with a time of 54.51.
- The time was second fastest in NCAA DII this season and ranks third all-time in FPU history.
- Chloe Sharp took seventh in the 400-meter with a 54.88 that ranks fourth in NCAA DII and fourth all-time at FPU.
- Flores flew in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.10.
- The time was a personal best and ranks fourth in the nation and third all-time in school history.
- Veronica Ortega-Ramirez ran the 1,500-meter in 4:57.88 for a third-place finish.
- Maribel Aguilar took fourth in the 5,000-meters in 18:39.51 while Alexa Queenan finished one spot behind.
- Gianna Dickson was spectacular in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.13 for a third-place finish.
- She reset her own school record in the event and posted a time that ties for fifth-best in the nation.
- Dickson ran a 1:01.02 in the 400-meter hurdles for a fourth-place finish.
- The time ranks third in FPU history and is sixth nationally.
- Kiah Murray cleared 5'3.25" in the high jump for sixth place.
- Alicia Garcia threw the javelin 117'8" to finish seventh place in the event.
MEN'S TOP FINISHERS
- Cullin Bates ran the 400-meter hurdles in 53.96, good enough for fifth place.
- Bo Olsen took fourth in the 800-meter run going 1:51.86.
- The time ranks fifth all-time in school history.
- Bryan Banuelos earned a top-three finish in the 1,500-meters with a time of 3:48.94.
- He set a new FPU record in today's race.
- Jacob Resendez was excellent in the 5,000-meters, taking third in 15:09.26.
- Xavier Smith ran the 10k at the San Francisco State's meet on Thursday, earning an NCAA Provisional with a time of 30:25.
- The time is the second-fastest in FPU history.
- Brett Lombardi, Daniel Binns, Zavian Cook, and Bates ran the 4x400-meter relay in 3:18.73.
- Tamar Archie's triple jump of 45'11.25" earned a fifth-place finish in the event.
