Azusa Pacific is ranked 25th in the most recent edition of theÂ
Collegiate Baseball Poll and 10th in the
NCBWA Poll after winning its' ninth straight game last weekend. As a team, the Cougars have clipped a league-best .315 this spring, while Justin Gomez has reached base in 20 straight games. Sophomore third baseman Osvaldo Tovalin has terrorized opposing pitchers all season, hitting .406 with 13 homers and 120 total bases. Nick Estrella and A.J. Woodall have combined for 21 starts so far to lead the Cougar pitching staff, combining for 96 strikeouts in 127 innings on the mound.Â

The Cougars claim a slight 31-30 edge in the all-time series, including a 14-14 record in Fresno. FPU has not taken a series from APU since 2015.  Â
