About the Sunbirds (14-19, 10-10 PacWest)
Fresno Pacific is coming off a series win over Holy Names on the road last week, and the 'Birds have now won five of their last seven games. Garrett Cooper was selected as the PacWest Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon after picking up two saves last weekend and moving into the top five on FPU's single-season leaderboard. Ross Dodds has reached base safely in 12 straight games, the longest streak of any Sunbird this season, while Tristen Alvarez has posted 12 multi-hit games to lead the team. The FPU pitching staff is led by junior Nic Boatman, who struck out 12 Hawks in the series opener last weekend, landing one shy of the program record.

About the Sea Lions (25-12, 13-6 PacWest)
Point Loma has yet to drop a league series this season, and the only team that has split with them was Concordia three weeks ago. The Sea Lions have outscored opponents 57-28 and gone 6-2 since then, including a 3-1 series against Hawai'i Pacific last weekend in San Diego. Centerfielder Micah Pries continues to be one of the most dominant player in the West Region, leading the team with a .336 average while sharing the league lead in home runs. Zack Noll has anchored the Sea Lion staff so far, fanning 77 hitters over 61.1 innings while holding opponents to a .218 average and posting a 2.35 ERA.

The Sea Lions are 38-19 in the all-time series against the Sunbirds and have dominated in recent years, as FPU has failed to pick up a win in each of the last 13 meetings. The 'Birds are 11-12 at home against Point Loma but haven't won in Fresno since 2014.
