Fresno Pacific is coming off a non-conference series with Holy Names last week, taking the final game 5-3 in exciting fashion to finish the weekend on a high note. Freshman first baseman
Brian Hefner brought the big bat on Saturday, lifting two home runs in the finale to move into a tie with
Ross Dodds for the team lead. Right hander
Nic Boatman took home PacWest Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday afternoon following an outing that featured 10 strikeouts and just one hit over 7.2 innings against the Hawks.Â

About the Eagles (12-15, 7-5 PacWest)
Concordia split last weekend's series with 14-ranked Point Loma, winning the back end of doubleheaders on both Friday and Saturday. With infielder Nick Grimes leading the way, the Eagles have posted a .302 batting average, good enough for third in the PacWest. Relievers Isaiah Bettencourt and Morgan Brannock have highlighted the pitching staff for Concordia so far, allowing a total of nine earned runs over 28.1 innings of work.
Â
The Sunbirds are 19-24 in the all-time series against Concordia, and the Eagles have won four of the last five meetings. 2017 was the last time Concordia made the trip to Fresno, with the Blue and Orange winning the middle two games to earn a split.Â
