FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific baseball team is set to host Holy Names for a four-game series this weekend, opening with a doubleheader on Friday before wrapping up with the final two games on Saturday afternoon.

Fresno Pacific has been off since March 9, when it lost on a walk-off hit against Hawai'i Hilo before bouncing back to salvage a split with an 8-2 win in the nightcap. Freshman
Brian Hefner has turned in more multi-hit games than anyone on the team with six, while senior
Tristen Alvarez has reached base in nine straight dating back to Feb. 23. The Sunbird pitching staff continues to be one of the best in the league, posting a 3.24 cumulative earned run average with eight arms still under 3.00 for the year.

About the Hawks (7-15, 6-6 PacWest)
Holy Names is coming off a series split with Academy of Art in Oakland last week, outscoring the Urban Knights 30-11 over four games. William Ruiz has been one of the most lethal hitters in the conference to date, leading the Hawks in batting average (.352), RBI (12), slugging percentage (.577) and total bases (41). The HNU staff has struggled so far, allowing just under seven runs per game, but the hawks are two full runs better against PacWest Conference opponents.
The Sunbirds are 20-4 all-time against Holy Names and have never dropped the series. FPU has only lost once on its' home field, where they won the previous seven meetings.
