SAN FRANCISCO – The Fresno Pacific volleyball team picked up its fourth win in five games on Saturday, as the Sunbirds soared past Academy of Art 3-1 at Kezar Pavilion.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds hit .333 in the opening set and received six kills from
Caroline Bodziak to take a quick 1-0 lead in the match.
• After dropping the second set, FPU answered back in the third as they outlasted the Urban Knights 29-27. The 'Birds fended off multiple set points before an attack error from ART U and a block from
Jaalyn Sotoa-Stuebing and
Christina Tran sealed the win.
• FPU then jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the fourth frame to cruise to the road victory.
STATS OF THE MATCH:

Carley Bock picked up her third straight double-double, as the senior amassed 20 kills, 10 digs and five aces. Bodziak added 15 kills,
Madison Pierce totaled 10 and
Mikayla Kennedy chipped in with seven.
• The FPU offense was facilitated by Tran, who dished out 44 assists. She added 16 digs and three aces.
•
Sierra LeBeau headed the defensive effort with 24 digs for the Sunbirds.
• ART U was limited to .195 hitting as a team. Ashley Pawlak led the Urban Knights with 20 kills.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds attack percentage as a team (.247), total kills (62) and total assists (60) were season bests.
