IRVINE, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team suffered its' first setback of the season on Thursday afternoon, falling 3-1 on the road against Concordia.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds came out firing, launching the game's first shot just 71 seconds into the game.
• Concordia found the back of the net just before the first half ended, but FPU stormed back with an answer less than two minutes into the second half.
• The Eagles went on top for good nine minutes later before putting the final nail in FPU's coffin in the game's 88th minute.
SCORING:
• (44:24) Elijah Adamin crossed from the left side, allowing Connor Gordon to fire to the lower left corner for the first goal of the day.

(46:43) Isaiah Asencio and
Anthony Velarde teamed up to connect with
Bruno Brumati, who responded with his first score of the season.

(55:09) After a give-and-go with Julian Font, Gordon struck again, giving the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.
•
(87:42) Gordon rounded out the hat trick with a volley after another assist from Adamin.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• The Eagles outshot their guests 15-13, including a 7-4 mark in shots on frame.

Patrick Timmer picked up four saves in the net for FPU, while CUI's Mackenzie Hutchins finished the afternoon with three.
• FPU took six of the game's 10 corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOX:

Anthony Velarde has picked up an assist or a goal in all five games this season.
• The loss snaps the longest unbeaten streak to start the season for the Sunbirds since the 2008 season.
