FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific picked up its second straight win on Saturday, as the Sunbirds swept Dominican behind Christina Tran's 22 assists and nine kills. Set scores from the Special Events Center were 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 in favor of FPU.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• In the opening set the Sunbirds scored the final six points of the frame to earn the win. A block from Mikayla Kennedy and Tran sealed the victory.
• Up 2-0 in the match, FPU found itself trailing in the third set 23-16. The Sunbirds then ran off a 10-1 run, which was highlighted by five kills from Caroline Bodziak to give FPU a straight set match win.
 
STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The Sunbirds hit .245 in the match and held DUC to a clip of .171.
• Bodziak led FPU with 12 kills, while Carley Bock and Tran added nine and Madison Pierce totaled seven.
• Tran added 22 assists, five digs and two blocks to her line, while Bock amassed three service aces for the 'Birds.
• Chantel Montayre and Sierra LeBeau headed the Sunbird defense with 12 and 11 digs, respectively.  
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds hitting percentage (.245) as a team marked a season high.
• It was the first three-set win for FPU this season.
• The 'Birds have won the last three meetings against the Penguins.
