GAME 1: ?
• After FPU starter
Esteban Lizaola retired six straight Holy Names hitters, William Ruiz plated the first run of the afternoon with a solo homer to left field.
•
Nick Dodd opened the Sunbird fifth with a single to left and came around to score on a double off the bat of
Tristen Alvarez three batters later.
• Hawk shortstop Alex Denobriga answered by homering on the second pitch in the bottom of the inning, again giving the home nine a one-run edge.
•
Robby Steves and
Adam Aleman each singled to left to begin the sixth, and Dodd followed with a sac bunt attempt that turned into a base hit.
• With the bases loaded and just one away,
Eddie Sievers grounded into a fielder's choice, but it was enough for Steves to cross the plate for a 2-2 game.
• The Sunbird offense exploded over the next two frames, scratching across four runs in the seventh before matching that mark again in the eighth.
• Holy Names mustered three runs over the final two chapters, but the Sunbirds were able to hold on for the series-opening victory.
• Alvarez and
Ross Dodds each picked up three hits in the victory, while Sievers and Aleman drove in two runs apiece.
• Lizaola picked up the win on the mound, striking out eight and surrendering three runs over 7.2 innings of work.
GAME 2:

Alex Garcia a 4-0 lead before he finished his warmup tosses.
• A defensive blunder gave the Hawks a run in the home half, but the Sunbird offense went right back to work the following inning.

• Two Sunbird runs came in to score in the fourth behind an RBI single from

• FPU went back to work in the final innings again, putting up six runs on seven hits in their final two trips to the plate.
• The offense provided plenty of backing for Garcia, who picked up his fifth win after whiffing ten and allowing just one earned run over 7.2 innings.
