As a Junior (2017) - Appeared in 41 games with 39 starts....hit .286 while leading the team in doubles (15) and home runs (5)....drove in 22 runs....led the team with a .514 slugging percentage....stole four bases in seven attempts....recorded 11 multi-hit games, including three three-hit performances....went 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBI in win over Holy Names (4/28).

As a Sophomore (2016) - Appeared in 43 games, including 31 starts....hit .252 with seven doubles, one triple and two homers....drove in 18 runs....stole eight bases....scored 17 runs.

As A Redshirt Freshman (2015) - Redshirted for the Sunbirds.

As a Freshman (2014) - Made 55 starts, primarily at second base and left field for the national champion Sunbirds....hit .298 with a .369 on-base percentage and finished third on the team with 30 RBI....also stole eight bases....showed poise beyond his years, delivering a walk-off hit against Sonoma State (3/8), one night after scoring the winning run in another walk-off win....made a couple miraculous catches in left field during the season, including a critical run-saving diving grab in the World Series....batted .310 with six RBI during the postseason....went 3-for-4 with three RBI in regional playoff win over Azusa Pacific (5/8)....went 4-for-6 with four runs, three RBI and a homer in win at conference champ Dixie State (5/3)....reached base in all seven plate appearances of a doubleheader sweep of Hawaii Hilo, finishing a combined 6-for-6 with a walk and three RBI (3/1)....had 13 multi-hit games.

Prior to FPU - Spent four years on the varsity team at West High School in Bakersfield....earned numerous accolades including all-league honors all four years, Jockey Club, all-area, and league player of the year as a senior after hitting .532 with 47 runs, five homers, 23 RBI, 14 doubles and 23 stolen bases....best individual game came against Hanford when he went 4-for-4 with three doubles and a triple....also played football.....graduated with a 4.0 GPA.

Personal - Born January 8....son of Gilbert and Debbie Villanueva....has three siblings: Scout, Shandon and Brandon.....his father played baseball at Arizona State....favorite food is spaghetti...favorite band is Linkin Park....favorite baseball team is the Angels....favorite athlete is Jackie Robinson....person he admires most is his dad....is a car enthusiast....Hunter is a kinesiology major with a goal of one day playing professional baseball.
