GAME 1:
• The Sunbirds took the early lead with two runs in the first and later extended it to 5-0 behind a Hunter Villanueva home run in the fifth and a Villanueva RBI triple in the sixth.
• The Trailblazers got two back in the sixth but FPU starter Alex Garcia was cruising through eight innings, with the Sunbirds up 5-2.
• DSU finally got to Garcia in the ninth as the Trailblazers strung together three hits and three walks in the final frame, culminating in a walk-off single by third baseman Joe Raymond off reliever Jonathan Molina. Raymond finished 3-for-5 to lead DSU.
• In addition to a big day from Villanueva (2-for-4, HR, 3B, 2 RBI), Braden Frankfort and Ross Dodds each tallied three hits for the Sunbirds.
• Villanueva's home run was his 10th of the season, tying the program's single-season record shared by Justin Keeney (2009) and Case Rigby (2010).
• Villanueva also became the seventh player in program history to reach 150 career hits.

GAME 2:
• Showing resiliency after the game one loss, the heart of the Sunbird order picked up right where it left off by jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Villanueva came through with a two-RBI double and was driven in by Frankfort.
• DSU cut the deficit to 6-3 after five, but the Sunbirds poured it on late, highlighted by a Frankfort grand slam in the seventh that made the score 12-3.
• Frankfort finished a single short of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and five RBI.
• Eddie Sievers went 3-for-5 and Nick Dodd finished 3-for-4 with two RBI in the win.
• Josue Mendivil earned the win, going 4 2/3 innings before running into trouble in the fifth and being relieved by Tyler Rumbaugh, who tossed a scoreless 2 1/3 innings while striking out four to earn the save.
