SAN DIEGO – The Fresno Pacific baseball team dropped the series opener against Point Loma on Friday afternoon, and the back end of the doubleheader was suspended due to lack of sunlight. Game 2 will be concluded prior to Saturday's twin bill.

Ross Dodds got the Sunbirds on the board in the first inning, plating
Eddie Sievers from third on an RBI groundout to second.
• The home nine answered with a four-spot in the home half, highlighted by an Adam Rios double to right center.
• Sievers drove in a run with a sac fly the to cut the deficit to 4-2 in the second, and
Hunter Villanueva launched his program-record 12th homer of the season an inning later.
•
Tristen Alvarez added a sac fly of his own in the fourth, but Point Loma left fielder Tyler Flores answered with a three-run shot in the bottom to half to give the Sea Lions an 8-4 lead.
• Villanueva deposited his second longball of the game over the wall in center in the sixth, trimming PLNU's lead to just one.
• The Sea Lions got their final two runs of the game in the eighth inning, paving the way for Nicholas Cornelius to pick up his first save of the year.

• The Sunbirds and Sea Lions return to action on Saturday, when they will pick up Game 2 where they left off in the 12th inning. The regularly scheduled doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
