HOW IT HAPPENED:
•
Sam Witt started the scoring early, but the Otters pulled even less than a minute later when Lucy Gates tallied her first goal.
• The Sunbirds retook the lead near the end of the first quarter behind a score from
Savannah Mangrum.
• CSUMB opened the second with a pair of quick scores, but
Julia Ponce answered with two scores of her own to again give FPU the edge.

• Gates' opened the third quarter with her third score of the afternoon, but
Emma McBride followed with yet another equalizer.
• The Otters found their sixth goal just before the third quarter drew to a close, but Mangrum began the fourth with two goals in three minutes to. Â
• CSUMB again turned to Gates, who pushed the game to a 6-6 tie late with her fourth score.
•
Madeline Frey and
Hannah Holly teamed up to find the final goal with just 1:24 remaining, and the Sunbirds were able to hang on for the victory.
Â
