HOW IT HAPPENED:Â Â
• CBU centerfielder Ryan Williams started the scoring with an infield single in the second inning, and he came in to score on a fielding error to give the Lancers an early 2-0 lead.
• FPU backstop
Braden Frankfort beat out an infield single of his own in the home third, scoring
Derek Arkelian from third.
• Frankfort struck again in the fifth with a single to right center, allowing
Eddie Sievers to cross the plate and tie the game at 2-2.
• With the bases loaded and two away in the top of the 11th, CBU first baseman John Glenn drew a four pitch walk to bring in the go-ahead run.
•
Nate Case struck out to begin the home half but reached first base on a wild pitch, and Sievers singled up the middle two batters later.
• A wild pitch advanced both runners 90 feet closer, but Frankfort hit a bouncing comebacker that CBU's Logan Rinehart knocked down for the final out of the game.
• As the sixth man to toe the rubber for the Lancers for the day, Rinehart picked up his fourth win of the season after tossing both the extra frames.
• After a strong eight innings from
Nic Boatman,
Jonathan Molina took the loss for the home nine, dropping him to 2-3 on the year.
Â
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Sievers extended his reached base streak to 16 games, the longest active streak on the team.
Ross Dodds has the longest streak of the season with 19 games.
•
Hunter Villanueva is one home run away from setting the program's single-season record. Â
• Frankfort tallied his seventh multi-RBI game of the season. Only Sievers and Villanueva have more, and they each have eight.
