HAYWARD, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team picked up a late goal on Thursday evening to hold on for a 1-0 victory over Holy Names. The Sunbirds have now won three straight for the second time this season and improve to 6-1-1 with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds and Hawks exchanged opportunities in the first half, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. 
• A corner kick allowed the Blue and Orange to break through in the game's 81st minute, and FPU held Holy Names without a shot for the final nine. 
 
SCORING: 
• (80:08) Joao Ravasio's corner kick was on point, finding Jose Vargas in the box for the eventual game-winner.   
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• Fresno Pacific outshot their guests 15-9, taking a slight 6-5 edge in shots on target.   
• Patrick Timmer gave the Sunbirds four saves en route to his second clean sheet of the season, while HNU's Alessandro Ramondino went for four of his own. Additionally, each squad recorded a team save.    
• The Sunbirds took all eight of the game's corner kicks.   
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Thursday's game marked the first time this season that Anthony Velarde was held without an assist or a goal.   
• Vargas' score was his fifth of the season, matching Velarde for the team lead.
