FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific couldn't get by the block of Hawai'i Hilo on Tuesday night, as the Sunbirds fell 3-1 in PacWest play. Set scores were 25-20, 25-18, 18-25, 25-15 in favor of the Vulcans.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds dropped the opening two sets, but fired back in the third to win 25-18. An 8-1 run in the opening portion of the set put FPU in control, which was highlighted by two aces from
Mikayla Kennedy and a pair of kills from Bock.
• The Vulcans answered back in the fourth, however. The Sunbirds were held to a negative attack percentage as UHH earned the road win.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
• Bock led the Sunbirds with 12 kills, while
Jaalyn Sotoa-Stuebing added 11 and
Caroline Bodziak totaled nine.
Greta Dobenecker dished out 37 assists.
• The defense was headed by
Sierra LeBeau at the libero position, as the junior amassed 18 digs.
• UHH received 12 kills from Bria Beale and 13 blocks from Ashton Jessee.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds allowed a season-high 20.0 team blocks to Hilo.
