FRESNO, Calif. – Carley Bock put down a game-high 14 kills on Thursday night, but Fresno Pacific fell to Hawai'i Pacific 3-0 in PacWest action. Set scores were 25-23, 25-22 and 25-22 in favor of the Sharks.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds and Sharks battled it out in the opening set and exchanged points throughout the frame. HPU escaped with the set win despite FPU leading 22-20 at one point.
• The second set was much of the same, as each team went back and forth before HPU used a 5-1 run at the end to clinch the frame.
• With the score 22 all in the third, HPU used a 3-0 run to hold off the Sunbird comeback and escape Fresno with the sweep.
 
STATS OF THE MATCH:
• Bock led all players with 14 kills, while Madison Pierce added 11 and Mikayla Kennedy totaled nine for the Sunbirds.
• Greta Dobenecker amassed 47 assists for FPU, while Sierra LeBeau scooped up 20 digs.
• HPU out-blocked the Sunbirds 10-2. The Sharks received 12 kills from Cameryn Collie  and eight blocks from Carson Pyle in the win.
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Bock now has 13 double-digit kills efforts on the season.
• FPU honored its faculty during the match.
