LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over Biola on Saturday night after tallying the game-winner in the 90th minute of play. Reigning PacWest Player of the Week
Anthony Velarde assisted on the final score, making him the leader in all-time assists (37) by a PacWest Conference player.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU got on the board first with a penalty kick, giving the Sunbirds a 1-0 edge at the intermission.
• Biola got the benefit of a call with 15 minutes to play, tying the game with a penalty kick of their own.
• The Blue and Orange took their time on a set piece that ultimately provided the game-winner, allowing Velarde to break the record in the process.
SCORING:
• (29:24) A foul in the box allowed Velarde to connect on his first penalty kick of the season, adding to his team lead in scores.
• (75:03) The Sunbirds were whistled for a foul that paved the way for Atu Galadima to provide the equalizer with a Biola PK.

(89:28) The Sunbirds lined up for a corner kick with 32 seconds to play, and Velarde linked up with
Bruno Brumati to give the 'Birds a thrilling game-winner.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• Biola outshot their guests 14-8, but both teams were able to put five attempts on frame.

Patrick Timmer recorded five saves to improve to 10-2-0 for the year, while Eagle keeper Luis Rodriguez stopped three shots.
• The Sunbirds took six of the game's 10 corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Velarde has now tallied at least one point in all but two FPU contests this fall. The Sunbirds are 1-1 in those games.
• FPU has defeated Biola in both meetings since the Eagles joined the PacWest.
