Sunbirds Head to Utah for PacWest Battle

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's basketball is scheduled to play just one game this week, a PacWest Conference road game against Dixie State. The Sunbirds enter Friday's matchup in sixth place in the league standings with seven regular season games remaining.

About Fresno Pacific (9-12, 7-6 PacWest)
• Despite a career-high 23 points from Jessica Malazarte, the Sunbirds were tripped up in overtime on Saturday evening, falling 100-92 against Notre Dame de Namur.
• Bree Alvarez, Cassie Pisik and Ashley Cross each scored in double-figures, as well, giving FPU nine games with four players having at least ten points. They are 6-3 in those games.
• The Sunbirds have forced more turnovers than they have committed in all but two PacWest games this season. 
• Saturday was FPU's first overtime game of the year and 92 points is their highest-scoring game since February 25, 2012 in a win against Hope International.

• The Trailblazers played four games in seven days in the Bay Area last week, going 2-2 with wins against Holy Names and Academy of Art.
• In Saturday's victory over the Urban Knights, Kristin Baldwin's 21 points led all scorers, while her ten rebounds rounded out her sixth double-double of the season.
• Baldwin has been a major contributor for the Trailblazers this season, as she currently ranks third in the PacWest in blocks (37) and fifth in rebounding (9.4 RPG).
• After winning each of the last three meetings against the Sunbirds, Dixie State claims a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series. FPU has never defeated the Trailblazers at Burns Arena.
