QUOTABLE:
• "Tough outcome for us tonight. I thought we, again, had stretches where we were really tight and executed well, but we struggled to make shots a little. We had a three-minute lapse in each half where we lost our composure a little bit, and those runs were the difference. We are short-handed and banged up physically, but we will stay tight, stay together and will keep cleaning stuff up as we prepare to defend our home floor on Tuesday against Stanislaus." – head coach
C.J. Haydock
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU and Minnesota State exchanged baskets in the opening 10 minutes of the game before a
Jake Straughan three tied the game at 18 apiece.
• A few minutes later, the Mavericks ran off an 11-2 run that proved to be the difference.
• The Sunbirds, who trailed 45-34 at halftime, cut the deficit to 10 early in the second half (16:39) on a layup from
Adrian Antunez, but wouldn't come any closer the rest of the way.

• Straughan and
Sam Burt led the Sunbirds with 14 points apiece. Burt added five rebounds.
•

• The Sunbirds finished the night with a shooting percentage of 45 percent, but FPU struggled from distance with a clip of 6-of-22.
