Sunbirds to Battle Argos, Eagles This Week

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team is set for a pair of PacWest Conference matches this week, visiting Notre Dame de Namur on Wednesday before hosting Biola on Saturday evening.

About Fresno Pacific (2-6-0, 1-2-0 PacWest)
• The Sunbirds dropped their only contest of the week last Saturday, falling 4-1 to Concordia in the first conference road test of the year.
• As a team, FPU ranks second in the league in shots so far this season, firing 123 shots through eight games. Only California Baptist (157) has taken more.
• Both wins for the Blue and Orange have come at Ramirez Field, where the Sunbirds posted a 4-1-1- record in PacWest games last fall.

About Notre Dame de Namur (6-1-2, 2-1-1 PacWest)
• After opening PacWest play 2-0 with wins over Academy of Art and Holy Names, the Argos have stumbled offensively, failing to score a goal in either of their last two contests.
• Esteban Berumen and Naia Graham have combined for 80% of the team's goals to this point in the season.
• The Argos posted a 3-4-0 record in road conference games last season but have won their last two games in Fresno.

The Series
• Fresno Pacific claims an 8-4-1 record in the all-time series, including a 4-1-0 mark since joining the PacWest Conference prior to the 2012 season.

• Last season in Belmont, FPU emerged with a 3-2 victory behind an 81st-minute game-winner from Jorge Chedraui.
 
About Biola (3-4-1, 2-1-0 PacWest)
• In their first season in the PacWest Conference, the Eagles dropped their league opener before bouncing back with victories over NDNU and Dominican last week.
• Biola has yet to win a match away from their home pitch this season after falling to #15 Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 2 and defending PacWest Champion Dixie State on Sept. 23.
• The Eagles' offensive attack comes from all over the field, as midfielder Jarrett Pugh and defender Sammy McKay are tied with one another for the team lead in goals.
