Preston Scott extended his program-record hitting streak to 26 games in game one but had the streak snapped after going 0-for-3 in the second game.
Joey Gallegos collected five hits on the day, including three doubles, to lead the Sunbirds (13-19, 8-10 PacWest).
Leo Carrillo added three hits.
Starting pitchers
Rickie Garcia and
Josh Medeles were each hung with the loss for FPU.
DSU's Samuel Hall went a combined 6-for-9 with 11 RBI on the day to lead the Red Storm (27-6, 15-4 PacWest).
Scott's hitting streak is a program record. The previous mark was 17 games, which was done by Tyler Pryor in 2010 and again by Wes Dorrell in 2011. Scott also had a 16-game hitting streak last year.
