ST. GEORGE, Utah - Fresno Pacific struggled from the floor on Saturday as the Sunbirds fell to Dixie State, 93-65, on the road at Burns Arena.
Madison Higgins led all scorers with 21 points in the setback for FPU.

The Sunbirds fall to 13-11 overall and 8-9 in league action with the loss, while DSU moves to 13-8 overall and 10-5 in the PacWest.

Gabe Solarin added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Sunbirds, while
T.J. Viney totaled eight points, six assists and five rebounds.
Spencer Krannitz chipped in with 10 points.

FPU was held to 39.7 percent from the floor and 29 percent from three on the evening. After draining seven threes in the opening half, the Sunbirds were limited to 2-of-17 from deep in the second period. Dixie State countered at 50.8 percent from the field.

The Red Storm led from start-to-finish and held a 49-34 advantage at the break. FPU cut the DSU lead to nine, 60-51, with 14 minutes to play, but wouldn't come any closer the rest of the way. The Red Storm went on to lead by as many as 28 in the second half.

The Sunbirds committed 23 turnovers which turned into 34 points for DSU.

Mason Sawyer led the Red Storm with 19 points and six rebounds, while Josh Fuller added 17 points and nine boards.

FPU is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 20 on the road at Notre Dame de Namur. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Belmont.Â
