BELMONT, Calif. – Spencer Krannitz scored 25 points and
Madison Higgins added 21 as Fresno Pacific escaped with a key road win, 92-90, at Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday.

FPU improves to 14-11 overall and 9-9 in the PacWest with the win. The Sunbirds stay in the hunt for the final spot in the conference tournament with the victory, staying ahead of Point Loma, Chaminade and Dominican at 8-9. NDNU falls to 3-22 overall and 2-16 in league action with the loss.

Krannitz made 8-of-14 shots on the afternoon en route to his game-high 25 points. The junior added seven rebounds, four assists and two steals to his line. Higgins made 7-of-11 shots with a trio of threes, while

The Sunbirds trailed by five, 64-59, with 12:44 left before a 23-10 run propelled FPU to its largest lead of the game by eight, 82-74, with 4:54 to play. The stretch started with a jumper from Higgins and a dunk from Herting, before being capped off with a three from Higgins. NDNU crawled back into it down the stretch and had a shot to win at the buzzer, but Jalen Young's running jumper went off the backboard and rimmed out to give the Sunbirds the win.

"Give Notre Dame de Namur credit, they made shots and played well," said head coach
Tim Kisner. "We found a way to get it done tonight, but we need to be sharper in our late game stuff and our defensive coverages."
Â
Tre-shawn King-Dunbar led NDNU with 22 points, while Jamaal Davis added 21 and Young poured in 19.
Â
The Sunbirds are back in action at home on Wednesday, Feb. 24 against Dixie State. The two teams met last Saturday in a game that was won by DSU 93-65.
