SCHEDULE NOTES
After this week, the 'Birds make their final road trip of the season with a pair of league matches against California Baptist and Concordia. FPU hosts Hawaii Hilo on Nov. 3 and will celebrate Senior Day on Nov. 5 against Hawaii Pacific to wrap up the regular season.

PACWEST STANDINGS
As of October 17, Fresno Pacific currently sits in eighth place in the PacWest Conference standings. Academy of Art is 12th, while Holy Names is in 13th place.

ABOUT FRESNO PACIFIC (4-6-2, 3-3-1)
After splitting last week's road trip to Southern California, the Sunbirds aim to make up some ground in the PacWest Conference. Benjamin Cowdrill has scored four of the last five goals for the Blue and Orange dating back to October 7, emerging as the 10th different Sunbird to find the back of the net this season. Matias Fernandez has started all 12 games in goal for Fresno Pacific this fall, picking up 52 saves in that span.

ABOUT ACADEMY OF ART (2-9-1, 2-5-0)
The Urban Knights enter Wednesday's matchup having been shut out in each of their last three contests. Most recently, Art U suffered a 1-0 loss to Dominican on Sunday afternoon to drop to 1-4-0 this season in road contests. Jordan Seech is the only Urban Knight to score more than once than this fall, though Bobby Gutierrez leads the team in shots taken. Kevin Mendez has been the main man between the posts, tallying 38 saves in 12 starts.

SERIES HISTORY: SUNBIRDS VS URBAN KNIGHTS
Fresno Pacific claims a 4-0-0 record in the all-time series, including a narrow 3-2 victory on the road last season. Jorge Chedraui and Joey Belzil put the Sunbirds up 2-0, but Joao Ravasio came away with the game-winner in the 81st minute after the Urban Knights tied the game at 2-2.

ABOUT HOLY NAMES (1-10-1, 1-7-0)
Holy Names dropped PacWest contests to Point Loma and Azusa Pacific last week, with Yohannes Harish scoring the goal that prevented the Hawks from being on the wrong end of back-to-back clean sheets. That also helped him become the team's leading scorer through 12 games, while goalkeeper Juan Nieves has tallied 41 saves.

SERIES HISTORY: SUNBIRDS VS HAWKS
FPU claims a 9-1-1 advantage in the all-time series and has historically scored often against the Hawks. In the last five meetings, the Sunbirds have outscored Holy Names 32-8, including a 7-3 victory in Hayward last season. FPU has scored at least five goals in each of those five contests.

HEAD COACH JAIME RAMIREZ
In 25 seasons, Jaime Ramirez has coached the Sunbird men to a 300-150-31 record that includes a pair Pacific West Conference Championships (2013, 2015), eight Golden State Athletic Conference Championships (1991, 92, 98, 99, 2002, 03, 05, 11), four Region Championships (1999, 2003, 2007, 2012) and five NAIA National Championship Tournament appearances (1999, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009). His 300 wins are the most in FPU men's soccer history.

As a player, his career records for most goals scored (54) and most points scored (134) stood for nearly twenty years. They were finally surpassed in 1999 by striker Edgardo Contreras (61, 141). Ramirez was a four-time Fresno Pacific MVP, four-time NAIA All-District Three award winner and three-time NAIA All-America honoree. As a senior in the 1980 campaign, he led the (then) Vikings to the school's first NAIA District 3 championship.

Ramirez played one season (1982) for the Los Angeles Aztecs of the North American Soccer League, and then returned to Fresno to complete his education. He played 20 seasons in the San Joaquin Soccer League, the last seven with SC San Marcos. He helped San Marcos to the state semifinals in 1996 before retiring in 1997.

In his first season as head coach, Ramirez guided the Sunbird men to an impressive 15-2-1 record and was honored by his peers as the NAIA District 3 and All-Far West Coach of the Year. He has gone on to receive numerous coaching honors, most recently the PacWest Coach of the Year distinction in 2013.
