DAVIS, Calif. – Fresno Pacific wrapped up non-conference play Monday with a pair of setbacks to Harvard, 13-5, and #11 UC Davis, 13-2.
"We played two really tough teams today with the intent of preparing us for a tough conference schedule coming up," said head coach
Bryan Suhovy. "The women continue to grow and work hard. They took full advantage of the games today and gained the experience we hoped they would."
In the opener against Harvard, the Sunbirds (7-17) couldn't overcome a 7-0 Crimson run in the middle quarters. FPU cut the Harvard lead to one, 4-3, after a
Kaeli Hanson score in the second period, but wouldn't come any closer in the defeat.

Julia Ponce and Hanson scored a goal apiece for FPU. The Sunbirds recorded an assist on each score, led by two from
Alyssa Stevens.
Courtney Hall tallied 11 saves for the Sunbirds.
In the nightcap against the 11th-ranked Aggies, the Sunbirds were done in by a scoreless second half. UC Davis closed the game on a 9-0 scoring streak to put the game away. FPU cut the deficit to a pair, 4-2, early in the second quarter before the offense was silenced.

Kelsie Harvey recorded 10 saves and five steals in the loss.
FPU returns to play in the Golden Coast Conference on Friday, March 27 in Los Angeles against Loyola Marymount at 4 p.m.
