FPU concludes Hawaii trip with scoreless tie

LAIE, Hawaii - Fresno Pacific and BYU Hawaii played to a scoreless tie after 110 minutes of soccer on Saturday, as the Sunbirds concluded their Hawaii road trip at 2-1-1. FPU (4-3-1, 2-1-1 PacWest) was playing its fourth game in seven days.

"With a trip this long, to be able to come away with seven points for conference and to come back healthy is a big accomplishment," said head Rob Podeyn. "We've come together as a team, we're working hard and I think we've put ourselves in pretty good position with seven of our last nine games at home. Today I thought our fatigue showed a bit but we battled and created the better of the chances."

Selena Braun and Summer Hammond combined on the shutout for the Sunbirds. FPU was out-shot 12-7 but held a 4-3 shots on goal advantage.

The Sunbirds return home to take on Dominican at 5 pm on Wednesday.
