SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Fresno Pacific won its season-high third match in a row, defeating Dominican on the road 3-1 to improve to 4-3 in PacWest play.
Carley Bock had 18 kills to lead the Sunbirds and
Montana Lowe added 12 (.458).
Bissie DenHartog dished out 53 assists to go with a team-high 20 digs.
FPU hit well over .300 in sets one, three and four.
Gabriela Macedo had a double-double of 11 kills and 14 digs.
Morghan Williams added 12 kills,
Sarah McCann had 15 digs and
Hannah Butler finished with 14. The Sunbirds held the Penguins (5-8, 2-5 PacWest) to a .156 attack percentage on the night.
"We were fighting lulls throughout the whole match," said head coach
Matt Terra. "Halfway through game three we woke up and started playing like we're capable of. Both matches this weekend were tough, hard fought road wins. I'm proud of how they pulled together and never quit."
The Sunbirds travel to Hawaii next week for a three-match road trip as the team faces first-place BYU Hawaii, along with Chaminade and Hawaii Hilo.
