Fresno Pacific picks up their first home win tonight 12-11 in the rain against rival Concordia.

"We came out really fired up tonight," said head coach Bryan Suhovy. "We got confidence from playing our first home game this past weekend. We worked hard and have been shooting well all week and wanted to pick up a win here before heading to a big weekend of matches. I'm proud of how aggressively we played during the first half. We slipped a little in the third but battle hard for the win in that final quarter."

The Eagles struck first getting their first goal within the first 30 seconds of play but the Sunbirds were unfazed as they out scored their opponent 6-3 in the opening quarter. Co-captain Nia Apodaca had three goals during the first quarter. The teams matched goal for goal in the second quarter.

Coming out of the intermission, the Eagles looked to make up for lost points by out scored the Sunbirds by one in the third quarter. The Sunbirds regained their focus and picked up their defensive efforts during the fourth quarter where Apodaca had two steals in the final minutes to insure an FPU victory. Emily Marr contributed three goals throughout the match for the Sunbirds. Goalie, Kelsie Harvey had 16 saves, two steals and an assist in the win.

The Sunbirds return to action this weekend at the Posada Royale Invitational where they will face California Lutheran at 8:00 am and UC Santa Barbara at 2:15 pm on February 28 then take on La Verne at 8:00 am and Chapman at 3:30 pm on March 1.
