LAIE, Hawaii - Malcolm Griffin and Jackson Carbajal each scored 21 points for Fresno Pacific but BYU Hawaii shot 61% from the field to defeat the Sunbirds 106-71 in the first game of FPU's four-game Hawaii road trip.

Griffin added seven assists and Trevon Clayton had eight rebounds in the loss as FPU fell to 11-14, 6-11 in PacWest play. The Sunbirds shot 46% from the field and just 48% (10-of-21) from the free-throw line.

Scott Friel had 17 points and 11 assists to lead the Seasiders, who drained 13 three-pointers and improved to 13-11, 11-7 in the PacWest.

FPU takes on Hawaii Pacific on Monday at 6:30 pm local time, 8:30 pm Pacific.
