Women's soccer plays William Jessup to 1-1 tie

Box Score

Fresno Pacific played with 10 players for most of Tuesday night's game at William Jessup, but was still able to battle back from a 1-0 deficit, force overtime and end in a 1-1 tie.

The Sunbirds (2-4-1) tied the game with less than ten minutes to play on a goal from Mariah Alvidrez. The team had given up an early goal, before Jessica Pereschica was penalized with a red card to put the Sunbirds down a player just twenty minutes in.

"We're happy to get out of here with a tie against a very competitive team," said coach Erik Farfan afterward. "I was pleased with the way we were able to respond to adversity."

FPU now looks ahead to its conference schedule, which begins this Saturday in Fullerton at Hope International. The Royals are 4-2 this season, with one of their losses coming 3-2 in overtime to William Jessup.
