Fresno Pacific played its way into the number four seed in the GSAC after a 5-1 win against Point Loma Nazarene over the weekend. That win secured a  first-round home playoff game for the Sunbirds and earned them a date with fifth-seeded Biola, a team that defeated FPU in Fresno just two weeks ago.

The Sunbirds entered that game on October 19 with a 5-1 GSAC record and a shot at winning the conference if they could finish strong. Instead, the team fell 2-0 to the Eagles and proceeded to lose its next two as well before getting back on track by trouncing PLNU.

In that first meeting the Sunbirds fell behind early and allowed Biola, one of the toughest defensive sides in the conference, to take control of the game. Jacob Ravenscraft scored less than three minutes in for the Eagles and Kennedy Chongo would add another goal before halftime.

The only FPU player that consistently caused problems for the Eagles was Gustavo Da Silva. Unfortunately Da Silva will not be suiting up for the Sunbirds tonight as he accumulated his fifth yellow card of the season on Saturday, which requires a one-game suspension.

With their second-leading scorer out, the Sunbirds will rely even more heavily on Paul Islas, who is coming off an outstanding individual performance against PLNU in which he scored twice and had two assists.

The Eagles though, did a good job of containing Islas the first time around. Biola is led offensively by Chongo, who led the team with seven goals. Zach Bautista led the Eagles with seven assists. Biola's team defense allowed just 0.9 goals per game and recorded four shutouts in GSAC play.

Biola is coming off a 4-2 victory over The Master's, which eliminated the Mustangs from postseason contention. Other GSAC playoff games are listed below and will be updated as they are completed. The winner of tonight's game will play the winner of eight-seed Concordia and first-place Vanguard.

#3 Azusa Pacific def. #6 Hope International 4-0.
#2 California Baptist def. #7 Westmont 1-0.
