FRESNO, CA – It was senior day at the Haak Tennis Center as the No. 2 Sunbirds turned back No. 21 Westmont 9-0 on a warm Tuesday afternoon.
Fresno Pacific completes their fourth straight undefeated conference season at 18-0 (21-1) overall. The Sunbirds also ran their GSAC winning streak to 54. The all-sports GSAC win streak record is 58, held by Azusa Pacific's men's tennis team.
Seniors Yulia Blinovskaya, Maria Klokotzky, and Brittany Salley (Buchanan) all won their last matches in a Sunbirds uniform.
Salley teamed with Elizabeth McFeeters (Bullard) to defeat the Warriors' Sarah Chhum and Sarah Kamida 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Salley is the last remaining member from Fresno Pacific's inaugural season in 2005.
Fresno Pacific now awaits their fate in the pairings for the NAIA National Championships held in Mobile, AL from May 11-16th. The draw will be announced Tuesday, May 5th.
The Lady Sunbirds have been national runners-up the previous three years.
