FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (30-15, 22-11 GSAC) used their offense to take down GSAC opponent Biola (30-20, 20-13 GSAC). The Sunbirds had 18 hits against Biola in their 12-5 victory.
The Sunbirds broke out in the third inning with three homeruns for five RBIs. #Anthony Lowell and Dwight Nixon# hit back-to-back solo homeruns to start the inning, and then Josh Jackson hit a three-run homer to put the Sunbirds up 5-0. The Sunbirds put the game out of reach in the fifth inning scoring five more runs to lead 10-0.
Jackson finished leading the Sunbirds with three RBIs. #Alec Mehrten#, Andrew Douglas and Nixon all had two RBIs apiece. #Joey Norwood# led the Sunbirds with three of the teams 18 hits, hitting three-for-four.
Kelyn Schellenberg received the win pitching seven innings, keeping Biola scoreless for the first five innings. In his seven innings, Schellenberg allowed five hits and two runs with three strikeouts.
The Sunbirds will face San Diego Christian on Saturday, April 25 for their final doubleheader of the regular season, as well as their senior day. The first game is scheduled for 12:00 noon.
