#12 Sunbirds split in pitchers' dual against Biola

LA MIRADA, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (14-6, 8-5 GSAC) split again, this time in a pitchers' dual.  Game one went to Fresno Pacific while game two went to Biola (10-11, 5-5 GSAC), and both games ended as shutouts, 4-0 and 0-1, respectively.

 

Aaron Lynn got the win Saturday, pitching seven innings with no runs, five hits and three strikeouts.  Kelyn Schellenberg allowed two hits in an inning, and Brian Oliver gave up nothing in the ninth inning.  David  Hawes received the loss in game two, but played well only giving up two hits and the one and only run of the game pitching into the fifth inning.  Hawes also had four strikeouts.

 

The Sunbirds did a good job keeping Biola under control in the first game, but gave up a run late in game two.  Fresno Pacific began a run in the seventh inning, but flew out to finish the game with runners and first and third.

 

Anthony Lowell led the Sunbirds with one hit and two RBIs, while Jared Coleman also got the Sunbirds a RBI.

 

The Sunbirds will take on Master's College on Wednesday, March 11 to continue their stretch of away games.  The game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
