Women's hoops beat by Biola 68-46

LA MIRADA, CA. - The Fresno Pacific women's basketball team opened GSAC play on Tuesday night with a 46-68 loss to Biola University. With the defeat, the Sunbirds fall to 1-5 on the season and 0-1 in GSAC play while the Eagles improve to 2-3 overall, and 1-0 in conference play.

The Sunbirds had trouble from the get go and struggled in the first half, eventually falling behind to the Eagles 37-19 by the halftime break.

FPU stepped it up in the second half and played Biola heads-up, but the damage had been done. The 18 point first half deficit was too much for the Sunbirds to rebound from.

Fresno Pacific's Keri Stephanoff led the Sunbirds in scoring with a game-high 20 points on the night. Junior forward Jessica Torrecillas also contributed to put up double digits with 11 points in the contest.

Biola's Charrise Reece and Jennifer French were both on fire and scored 18 points apiece. Jessilyn Conicelli also put up 14 points for Biola.
