OAKLAND, CA. - The Sunbird women's basketball team could not fend off Holy Names University, falling to the Hawks 71-65 Saturday evening in tournament play. FPU had established a slim 40-39 halftime lead, but HNU came back in the second period to outscore the Sunbirds 32-25 to claim the victory.

With the loss, the Sunbirds are now 0-3 but will look to rebound as they travel to face CSU Bakersfield Monday, November 9th in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
