Devin Balbach was named FPU Athletics' Director of Cheer and Dance in February 2026.

Balbach brings over a decade of competitive coaching experience and a deep passion for student-athlete development. For the past 12 years she served as Head Coach of Varsity Competition Cheer at Clovis North High School, leading the team to six CIF Central Section championships and four USA national titles. She also spent the last four years as Director of the Cheer and Dance program for Clovis North as well as Granite Ridge Intermediate. USASF-certified to Level 6, Balbach has also coached all-star cheer for Pyramid Athletics.

"Her hiring reflects our deep commitment to elevating cheer and dance as a cornerstone of the Sunbird experience. We are excited to amplify our gamedays and position our cheer program to compete at the highest level." 

Balbach graduated from Fresno State University with a bachelor's in Liberal Studies as well as a master's in Higher Education Administration and Leadership.
