FRESNO, Calif. - Yet again, Fresno Pacific track and field split the forces to compete at three separate meets this weekend, contributing strong performances at the Leopard Invitational, Mt. SAC Relays, and Bryan Clay Invitational.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational, the Sunbirds turned in several headline performances. Evan Torres recorded a personal best in the 5,000 meters, crossing in 14:36 to move up to No. 6 all-time in program history. On the women's side, Julissa Avila clocked a 4:46 in the 1,500 meters, a personal best that ranks her No. 9 all-time, while Gianna Menchu added a PR in the 800 meters (2:17).
Highlighting the meet, Monte Moore delivered a record-breaking performance in the 800 meters, placing fourth overall with a time of 1:48.91 to set a new program record.
The Sunbirds also made noise on the national stage. Shemar Palmer improved his season-best in the 200 meters, moving into the No. 1 spot in the nation, while also posting a season-best in the 400 meters to rank No. 2 nationally. Avril Mendoza continued her strong campaign, setting a new lifetime best that places her fourth in the country.
At the La Verne meet, Fresno Pacific's distance group continued its momentum with a series of personal-best performances. Jaslin Arana (18:29) and Alesandro Escarzaga (15:34) each recorded PRs in the 5,000 meters, while Daniel Galvez (4:03) and Isaac Medina (4:08) notched personal bests in the 1,500 meters.
Overall, the Sunbirds showcased their depth and progression, combining record-breaking performances with a wave of personal bests as they continue to build momentum late in the season.
