TULOCK, Calif. - Moving into spring break, both the Fresno Pacific men's and women's track and field teams demonstrated impressive performances this weekend despite heavy legs and tough challenges.
The women's 4x100m relay team, composed of Nydia Chance, Avril Mendoza, Mikiyla Royal, and Shaniya Randolph, clocked a season-best time of 45.05 seconds, securing the top spot in the national rankings!
Numerous athletes achieved notable wins across various events, including Shemar Palmer securing victories in the 100m and 200m sprints, Malachi Carrasco excelling in the high jump (2.05m), and Shaniya Randolph winning the 200m.
When it came to throws, Tevž Podlipnik won it all in javelin (64.49m), Brooklyn Epperley took the crown in the discus, Chavez Gray excelled in both the hammer throw (51.69m) and discus (50.41m), and Nydia Chance added to the team's successes in the 100m.
Head coach Robert Foster mentioned, "although the women's team faced minor setbacks due to injuries, the team remains optimistic and is poised for an outstanding season ahead. So proud of their continued drive for excellence."
