SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — To close out the weekend, Fresno Pacific women's tennis fell to Dominican on Sunday at the Castellucci Family Tennis Center. Fresno Pacific secured its lone point with a victory in the No. 2 singles match, but were ultimately outscored by the Penguins 1-6.
Fresno Pacific claimed the doubles point with a 6-2 win by

Jessica McLean. However, Dominican secured victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, defeating
Fabiana Gonzalez and
Yume Ueoku 6-2, and Margarita Munoz and
Malia Mitchell 6-2.
In singles play, Dominican quickly established dominance and challenged the Sunbirds in the morning showing. Despite a welcome response by Ueoku's with a straight-set victory, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, Dominican solidified its lead with win on every other court. Unfortunately, the Penguins snapped the 'Birds three-win streak, bringing FPU's overall record to 3-1.
Head coach
Sam Gaeddert mentioned, "Dominican played very well today and they deserved the win. I am proud of how our women competed throughout the day. We were down, but it never felt out of reach. We have some time to rest now and will be ready to get back at it for the next match."
