FRESNO, Calif. - The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) released its Division II All-America Team Thursday afternoon, and Fresno Pacific University's
Tatum Benson was among those honored on the First Team.
Benson led the 'Birds and the conference in scoring (79) and goals per game (3.3) while finishing in third in total points (85). In the regular season, T. Benson had six games of six goals or more, with her highest total of the season at eight against the University of La Verne on March 1st. T. Benson also earned WWPA Offensive Player of the Week twice this season and finished her career as the program's all-time leader in goals. This is the third time Benson has made the All-America First Team, having received the distinction in 2024 and 2023. Additionally, she was a first-team All-WWPA performer this season. The Sunbirds finished the year at 14-13 overall, taking fifth place at WWPA's.
"Tatum has been an intricate part of our program the past several years and has made her mark both statistically and as a leader," said head coach
Bryan Suhovy. "I am excited she gets to close out her career with an all American recognition, it is well deserved and I am proud of her."
