DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- A lone victory from
Halle Faherty proved to be the bright spot for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds in a 6-1 loss to the 4th-ranked Embry Riddle University Eagles Wednesday at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
In doubles play, the Eagles swept the courts to clinch the doubles point.
After losing the doubles point, the Sunbirds entered singles play with the Eagles gaining momentum. Embry-Riddle would go on to clinch the match with wins on courts two, three, and five. The one bright spot for the 'Birds came from Faherty who gritted out a win after winning the first set, dropping the second, and then winning a ten point tie breaker for the third 10-5, giving the Sunbirds their lone win for the day. The Eagles would take courts six and one to finish the match. On court one, Yume Ueoku fell in hearbreaking fashion after winning the first set 6-3, dropped the second 6-4, only to lose in nail-bitting ten point tie breaker 10-8.

The Sunbirds will head back to Orlando tomorrow for their final match of their Florida trip against Palm Beach Atlantic University at 8:30am PT at the Sanlando Park Tennis Complex.
