FRESNO, Calif.- After a hot start, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds faltered in the singles falling to the Dominican Penguins Saturday afternoon 5-2. 

The 'Birds earned the doubles point after winning first and second doubles. Biola struck first earning the win on court three, but the 'Birds answered back on court one where Yume Ueoku and Daimy Paula secured a 6-3 victory. The deciding match fell on court two, where Halle Faherty and Malia Mitchell proved victorious 6-3. 

In singles, Biola came out on top at the sixth, fifth, third, and second lines clinching the match for the Eagles. Ueoku earned the lone singles win for the 'Birds defeating Rafols in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). 

UP NEXT

The Sunbirds will be back in action Wednesday at 2pm in Rocklin to take on the Jessup Warriors.
