TURLOCK, Calif.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds fell to the Stanislaus State Warriors Monday afternoon in their conference road opener.
Despite a win from
Halle Faherty and
Margarita Munoz on court two, Stansislaus State went on to steal the doubles point with victories on courts one in a tie breaker and a sweep on three.
As the match carried into singles, the Warriors moved within two points of clinching the match as it earned a win on court six.
Yume Ueoku earned the first point of the day for the Sunbirds with a straight set love sweep on courts one.
Despite the Sunbirds pressuring, the Warriors were ultimately able to seal the match at 4-1 as courts five and three provided the clinching point.
On court two,
Daimy Paula secured the second point of the day for the 'Birds after a gritty straight sets match, winning the second set in a tiebreaker.
Stanislaus State would go on to win on court four, ending the match 5-2 in favor of the Warriors.
