FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds fell 7-0 in their home/conference opener Thursday afternoon to the Biola Eagles.
The Eagles took the first doubles match on court three quickly with a decisive 6-0 win. Fresno Pacific however, answered back with the duo of
Yume Ueoku and
Daimy Paula winning on court one 6-2, leaving court two to decide the doubles point. It was a back-and-forth battle on court two, but ultimately the Eagles came away victorious with a 6-3.
In the singles, the Eagles took courts six, five, and two quickly clinching the victory. On courts four and three,
Halle Faherty and
Malia Mitchell found themselves in first set tie breakers, but both ultimately fell in straight sets after losing both of their tie breakers.
The match of the day fell on court one where Ueoku dropped the first set 6-4, but rallied to win the second 6-3. The third set tie breaker was tightly contested, but Ueoku was unable to complete the comeback falling 11-9.

The Sunbirds will look to regroup quickly as they host the Domincan Penguins tomorrow at 2pm at the Haak Tennis Complex.
