SAN RAFAEL, Calif.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds struggled to find a groove Friday afternoon as they were swept by the Dominican Penguins 7-0 at the Castellucci Family Tennis Center.
The Sunbirds battled through doubles action but fell on courts one and three as the Penguins claimed the doubles point.
Margarita Munoz and
Halle Faherty were on serve on court two when play was halted.
In singles, the Penguin's depth proved to be the difference, with victories on all six courts. The most competitive match of the afternoon was on court two where
Daimy Paula fell in a third set tie breaker 10-5, after winning the first set 6-4, before dropping the second 6-1.
